Access Statement

Here at the Ty Newydd Country Hotel we aim to ensure that all our guest have comfortable facilities, and are made to feel welcomed throughout their stay.

1. We have 28 rooms in total, 3 of which are situated on the ground floor.
2. The 3 ground floor bedrooms are adapted with handrails, lowered light switches, wider doors and en suite wet rooms. Shower stools are available on request.
3. All rooms are en-suite.
4. There is a small step at the main entrance by reception. But we have another entrance with a ramp that also leads to reception.
5. Assistance dogs are welcome.
6. The front desk is 118cm high.
7. Porter service is available to assist with luggage.
8. The restaurant, bar and function room are all situated on the ground floor.
9. The lounge is on the ground floor and waitress service is available if required.
10. There are toilets situated in the function room, restaurant and main entrance hall on the ground floor, but are not suitable for wheelchair access, however; we do provide access to the downstairs rooms, whose cloakroom facilities are suitable for wheelchair access.
11. All corridors are wide and well lit.
12. There are no lifts at the hotel.
13. The first floor is accessed by stairs with handrails. Rooms 1-6 are all at one level, with rooms 7-14 and 15-25 being accessed by a further 2 steps at the beginning of each corridor.
14. There is a car park with allocated bays for blue badge holders.
15. All the car park is gravel covered.
16. Our nearest train station is situated in Aberdare which is approximately 4 miles away.
17. Buses run regularly from Aberdare to the bottom of the drive which is 600 meters from the hotel itself.
